[stationery design] watercolor collaboration

Watercolor painting invites mountains

Inspiration comes when you least expect it… especially while lounging on a Lake Tahoe beach. This time it brought on a collaboration with Marissa Marquez of Colormonger … check out these watercolor images she painted while relaxing and enjoying the view!

Two watercolor paintings paired with custom typography = unique wedding invitations! [paintings by Marissa Marquez]
Quickly after seeing her amazing artwork, my mind started dreaming of typography along with paper & envelopes to match. I ended up designing a save the date and a wedding invitation (an rsvp card is also available if needed). I’m so excited about this new addition to my portfolio and hope we can work together in the near future…!

Etsy Shop > you can choose from the diy digital design (if you can print yourself) or the print listing (if you need me to print, provide envelopes & ship to you).

[custom design] papel picado letterpress wedding invitation suite

PapelPicadoCU

I finally received a sample of dave & emily’s letterpress wedding invitation package that I custom designed for them! I cannot believe how amazing the papel picado design looks printed [these photos don’t even do it justice!] 😉 I’m so glad they found me & requested my graphic design assistance, since they already had a letterpress printer lined up [at Full Circle Press].

[tech style] iPad case + keyboard facelift

ipad case cover

I’ve happily acquired a hand-me-down original iPad 1!
I searched everywhere for a stylish, unique case (it was tough to even find a regular case for this version).  When I found Inspired Cases on etsy I was so excited! Check out her shop if you need a fun case for your iPad 1, 2 or 3 (I love that she has all case options too)!

DIY laptop keyboard facelift:
It seems strange, but I always need a random creative project outside of my every day artistic job … especially during the busy season. So when I found a photo on pinterest showing how to give your keyboard ‘a happy facelift‘, I had to try it.  {you can of course use washi tape… but I used paper tape that I already had on hand (cavallini paris & numbers)… and I plan on purchasing the alphabet tape someday to switch out on a few of the letters}.

vintners inn wedding

My friends darlene & colin were married September 5, 2010 in Santa Rosa, California.
Their wine country wedding took place at the Vintners Inn & these gorgeous photos were shot by Jesse Leake photography. Below are just a few of my favorite images…of course I simply love the invitation & cake styled together! 😉

Congrats dar & col!!   *darlene was a diy pro! I provided the PDFs for her stationery designed & ready to print / assemble on her own. She based her wedding program on hilary & elizabeth’s layered program, but personalized the details to match her invite along with adding her own lace. **also, read more about her wedding invitations here!

[up-cycle] paper source calendars

It’s back! the 2013 Paper Source Wall Art Calendar! I’ve created so many folders, note cards, boxes, etc. from the previous two years & I shall not break the tradition 😉

Oh boy… I’m so excited about this Paper Source 2011 Calendar … It’s a crafty gals dream gift, well at least mine! Different templates {note cards, file folders, etc.} are drawn on the back of each page, ready to be cut out so you can reuse the cool paper patterns. Of course I need to get through an actual month before I can up-cycle each page… honestly, I’m not sure I’ll be able to make it! 😉  Read the description below for more info.

[custom wedding invitation] pocket folder with lace

wedding cake & invite

Darlene, my creative ‘DIY’ friend, sent me a sample of her very unique invitation package that I assisted her with (providing the digital design PDFs ready to print). Check out her invites along with a few of her personal notes below:

wedding invitation lace package

“I bought the lace in bulk {as I did for my wedding save the dates}. I then cut each piece of lace to size, wrapping it around the pocket enclosure flap and dotting glue (or glue dots) on the front & back to hold the lace in place {it also helps if the lace has a bit of stretch to it so both ends meet nicely}. The ribbon is optional of course, but it’s a nice dash of color along with the RSVP envelope!”

Congrats to Darlene & Colin, who were married labor day weekend, September 5, 2010!  wedding ceremony & reception day photos here!

[real wedding] Vera + Tim

Congratulations to Vera & Tim, married on April 30th, 2010 in Costa Mesa, California!

Below are a few snip-its, along with her own notes & links on where to find these creative vendors! I’m sure she hopes that this will help you start your wedding-planning-brainstorming-engines! 😉

> My reception dress (from David’s Bridal)! I couldn’t dance in that big ball gown so I figured I better have a more comfortable alternative. Saw it online, went to the store over my lunch break, tried it on and walked out with it in under 15 mins.  There were 3 brides there trying on dresses and they all looked at me like “How did she just do that?”
